Chinese American Wedding at Sheraton Hotel
Chinese American Wedding
Here are some photos and videos of a wedding I dj’d the last weekend at the Sheraton LaGuardia Hotel in Flushing Queens. It was such a beautiful day and Nick and Catherine were such a pleasure to work with. There were about 250 guests young and old and we had so much fun i was sad when I had to play the last song!
There were actually two Wedding Ceremonies. The traditional one pictured above and the Chinese Tea Ceremony as seen below:
In China, serving tea when guests come over is a significant way to show respect and is a very traditional custom. In the wedding, this act is in respect and gratitude to the Brides parents for all the years of love and care they have provided her. Tea is the symbol of purity, stability and fertility. The purity of tea represents the couples love is pure and noble; the stability of tea stands for faithful love and the fertile nature of the tea represents the family will have many children.
Wedding Reception
This was a crowd ready and willing to have Fun….and a lot of it! Guests danced a lot and i had a great time choosing songs that appealed both to Young and old and the result was that all ages danced together most of the night! Watch below as I introduce B & G into the reception to “Marry You” by Bruno Mars.
Dancing
Here are a few videos of guests having Fun throughout the night!
Now for some more Younger dancing with Older
Below is a photo of me DJ’ing the ceremony. Afterwards my assistant Alex moved and set up my equipment into the ballroom for the Reception. During that time we had a Bose speaker and Ipad hook up for the Cocktail hour outside.

Subject: Thank you!
Dave,
Before Nick and I leave for our honeymoon tomorrow, I just wanted to send you an email to say thank you and to let you know how appreciative we were of your efforts at our wedding on Saturday. From the hip hop to the oldies, you were absolutely amazing! Our only hope was that all our guests would enjoy themselves and have a great time dancing – and that’s exactly what happened thanks to your keen insight in getting everyone on the dance floor, from the 6 year olds to the 70 year olds! We were so lucky to have you on our wedding night!
Thanks for everything,
Nick and Cat
The Sheraton Laguardia is a GREAT place to have your wedding Event. Steve, the Banquet manager, and his staff excel at customer service and their food is outstanding. Thank you to Steve and his staff for making it a pleasure to work there and also a big thank you the Nick and Cat for entrusting me the music on their biggest day!!!
