For over a decade any event I have helped plan, I have always recommended David Swirsky’s company, Expressway Music. Why? Because hands down, David and his team are simply the best in NYC. They continuously offer exceptional service at affordable prices and are wonderful and communicative to work with. I have asked Expressway to provide classical musicians for a 30-minute ceremony, followed by a funk band and then a DJ, as well as DJ services and a drumming circle for a Bat Mitzvah. He delivers seamlessly every time, effortlessly switching between musicians and DJ services. Need wedding ceremony coordination; the Expressway Music team will make it happen, in the cost they quoted you. I have worked with Expressway extensively on same-sex weddings and as soon as they became legal in NYC, they got the lingo down for man/man or woman/woman events and made me feel comfortable recommending them to my same-sex couple clients, who didn’t receive as gracious a welcome from other vendors. All my clients who worked with them directly, have had nothing but rave reviews about their experiences as well. Expressway Music’s DJs are always professional and have the amazing ability to read a crowd and play the exact right song, at exactly the right moment. Something I rarely if ever see other DJ’s do. I personally, while working, have gotten so caught up in the great time they are creating that I have forgotten to take notes! At the end of the day, what you need in a DJ company is great service, amazing music and good booking communication. Expressway Music nails it, every time, for over a decade; on hundreds of events has been my experience. Artistry’s Patron would only benefit from having Expressway Music as a preferred vendor.

Hi David, Thank you and Daniel you guys were great. Hannah had a fantastic time & so did we. Everyone was so kind and at the top of their game, it made the evening a huge success. I think the band (Hannah’s and her friends) had a blast, they don’t get the chance to play out much & they all love to play. We feel incredibly lucky to have had the space and everyone who joined in to make it all work. Hannah does have a pretty great group of friends, thanks for saying. Dave was exactly what we were looking for in a DJ and all our guests had an absolute blast at our wedding thanks in large part to the awesome music that he played throughout the night. Dave was a pleasure from the moment we stepped into his office months before our wedding to discuss our vision with him, and he brought a level of professionalism and sincerity that no other DJ we met matched. He was more than willing to go the extra mile in terms of playing whatever music we wanted at our wedding, and varied it up enough so that both older and younger guests felt welcome on the dance floor. We had so many compliments at the end of the night about our DJ, and I couldn’t recommend him highly enough.

Dave was absolutely outstanding!! He read the crowd, he listed to my suggestions and he planned the night to perfection!! I loved working with him and his team, they made my wedding the most incredible day of my life and my friends cant stop talking about how amazing the night was and what a fantastic party!!!! We were very fortunate to have David Swirsky as the DJ for our wedding. He and his team were a pleasure to deal with in preparing for the wedding. More importantly, Dave was great during the wedding. He was able to read the crowd and play music that kept everyone dancing. We had a number of people from out of town and they all told us what a fun time they had at the wedding. While I do not remember many details because the night becomes a blur, my husband and I remember that we had a great time, which is most important. Highly recommend Dave and Expressway Music.

David is a great wedding DJ. We had a small wedding so we were looking for somebody to play music as well as make announcements. We gave David a list of songs we wanted to hear at the wedding and asked him to use it as a sample of what we’d like to hear for the remainder of the evening. We also provided him with some mp3s of Russian music. He was great at reading the crowd – everybody was dancing all night long. David and his assistant were working with the venue staff to make sure everything goes according to the schedule. He was great to work with!

David is extremely personable and knowledgeable about all genres of music. Has an online request database and planning form that is extremely helpful. Played the music we requested and the additions he made were crowd pleasers. He really did a wonderful job on a most memorable night! The dance floor was packed all night long and there was definitely something for everyone. I wish I could have danced every dance! We also had 2 percussionists and they created a semi-live feel that really added to the atmosphere. He’s a little more than your average d.j. but you get a level of class and professionalism where you really don’t have to worry about the music the whole night. Highly recommend!

We have DJ Dave to thank for helping us throw such an amazing, unforgettable wedding reception. I would never have predicted that our family and friends would not get off the dance floor but that is exactly what happened. (And on a Sunday evening!) Dave put together such a fantastic soundtrack that guests could not resist. We have had so many people tell us that they have not had that much fun in a long time.. It was such great feedback to hear. Dave was right on cue about song selection, timing, mood, volume, etc throughout the entire night – cocktail hour was mellow, dinnertime music was appropriate, and the post-dinner dance party was perfect apparently. I can’t express how much fun we had that night – and the atmosphere that Dave set had so much to do with that. (My husband and I were even able to sit and eat dessert while the party continued on the dance floor!)I have to say that researching DJ’s was tough for us as it’s not something you can taste, sample, or view in a look book. However, once we met Dave we hit it off immediately. He is so nice, professional, passionate about music, and trusting. He received rave reviews from our other vendors who see him in action regularly and now I know why! Thanks so much, Dave to you and your terrific staff.
