Wedding at 632 on Hudson NYC
New York City is chock full of cool, funky and unique venues to hold a wedding and 632 on Hudson is certainly one of them. It has a disarming charm that leaves you wondering if you are entering an event venue or a a big cozy home from the 19th century!!! Jake and Siqi got married here this past weekend and it was some celebration. Our DJ Dave Swirsky was the dj for the ceremony throughout the wedding reception.
632 on Hudson is an ideal venue for couples who want GREAT MUSIC but are not looking or expecting much dancing because the venue only allows DJ’s to hook into their sound system (dj’s are not permitted to bring additional speakers) and the speakers at the venue are small and are specifically designed for listening not dancing. Jake and Siqi requested DJ Dave to play great music that reflects their crowd which was mostly guests in their 30’s with a splash of guests their parents and grandparents age.
Wedding Ceremony
at the beginning of the wedding there was a Traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony that was held for only the closest family members in a small room at the location. When the tea ceremony was over it was officially cocktail hour where dj dave played music a unique mix of melodic instrumentals and music with vocals. Soon after was the Wedding Ceremony. They chose “All you need is love” (originally from the Beatles) for their processional but this was the classical version done by the vitamin string quartet. It may not seem important but choosing a processional song sets the tone of the ceremony. A great choice would be one that compliments the venue and helps create a loving, warm mood.

DJ and Caterer
The DJ was our DJ/owner Dave Swirsky who is an ideal for a couple who wants their dj to be detail oriented, knows how to “read” the dance floor and play perfect music for their guests, who can emcee general announcements and introductions and who has a many years of NYC Wedding experience. Outstanding NYC Caterer Herb n Peach provided the food and staff for the entire wedding(Ceremony thru Wedding Reception). For the past 20 years HnP has consistantly provided the finest food to all types of events in and out of New York City. Their food is simply OUTSTANDING.
