New York Botantical Garden Wedding
New York Botanical Garden Wedding
It was a sunny, humid and festive day at the NY Botanical Garden Sunday for Rachel & Sam’s wedding and as close to a perfect wedding as you can get!
The Logistics
DJ Dave and his assistant Matt really had their work cut out for them. They needed three separate music set ups located at different parts of the venue. (one set up for the Wedding Ceremony outside, another set up for cocktail hour under the tent and the third, the reception, in the Ballroom.
Wedding Ceremony
As mentioned, the ceremony was held outdoors where it was both incredibly humid and very sunny. DJ Dave supplied the sound system and played music for the pre-ceremony, Processionals and recessional. He also provided the Rabbi with a microphone. It was so bright, DJ Dave’s assistant, Matt, set up an umbrella to block out the sun so Dave could read the computer screen!
Cocktail Hour
Cocktail Hour was about 500 yards away from the ceremony site and presented it’s own challenges. The Tent, where cocktail hour was held, is enormous and DJ Dave’s concern was to make sure the sound was spread evenly throughout the tent so you could hear the music anywhere you went in the tent without straining and that it wasn’t too loud in any one concentrated area anywhere either. DJ Dave and his assistant set up two wireless bose speakers (one at each end of the tent) and when the ceremony ended Dave’s assistant Matt turned on the cocktail music so as guests walked into the tent from the ceremony there was music playing at a perfect volume. It worked out perfectly according to plan.
Wedding Reception
The 3rd and final Set up was in the Garden Terrace Room for the wedding reception. After the ceremony ended and he turned on the music for the Cocktail hour, DJ Asst Matt transported the equipment from the Ceremony into the reception room and set up DJ Dave’s full system in that space. This was a big dancing crowd and DJ Dave did not disappoint. The Party began with a 20 minute ACTIVE hora!
One of the Many highlights of the Wedding was the Brides Cousins performing a musical toast and the guitar player was none other then Multi Grammy award winning Banjo player Bela Fleck (pictured below with DJ Dave)
The Photo Booth was also a big hit!
The Food was outstanding and the staff was excellent but the best part about the venue was hands down their Maitre De Stephanie who ran a perfect wedding and is a total and complete pro and handles everything gracefully with a smile. Here is a photo of Stephanie.
A GREAT time was had by all. Here is DJ Dave with Bride & Groom after the wedding.

Subject: Thank youDavid,
We just got back from the honeymoon and wanted you to know that the music was even better than we’d hoped for. We could have danced all night! We will certainly give you stellar reviews.
Warmly,
Rachel and Sam
P.S. Thanks for the Bohemian Rhapsody and the Green Day!
