David Swirsky founded Expressway Music in 1992, initally offering DJ and karaoke services.
Over the years the company has branched out to include live musicians, photo booths, top quality audio/visual services and much more.
With skills in DJing and song writing, David has positioned Expressway Music as the go-to company for entertainment services in this competitive events industry.
This review is a bit late, but Dave was our wedding DJ in May 2024. We had the absolute BEST experience with Dave! From start to finish, he was professional, organized, and truly understood how to keep the energy going all night long. A year later, our guests are still raving about the incredible music and the seamless flow of the evening. Dave took the time to understand our vision, curated a perfect playlist, and read the room like a pro—keeping the dance floor packed from the first song to the last. His transitions were smooth and his mic work was spot on. Beyond just playing great music, Dave was a true professional—arriving early, coordinating with our other vendors, and making sure everything ran flawlessly. If you’re looking for a DJ who can bring the perfect vibe to your wedding, we highly recommend DJ Dave!
I am writing to offer my enthusiastic recommendation for David Swirsky of Expressway Music. He has been our DJ of choice for a number of years and due to the overwhelming success of the parties each year, we will continue to utilize him. David is a great DJ. He is very friendly, talented, and will provide you with the type of service and ambiance you are seeking. Our firm is very diverse, yet he meets all our needs in a very professional yet fun way. He will take recommendations from the floor but ultimately adheres to the person in charge. He respects that the firm has offered him a job and he will do everything in his power to make sure your party is a success. I can’t recommend a better candidate for a law firm or corporation.
Thank you so much for providing all the musical services for Susan and Mary yesterday and for just being you and awesome. It was such a great night and working with you is always so easy and seamless. It’s really great being able to refer someone who can provide live music and DJ services all in one. Can’t wait to work with you again.
Thanks very much, David. I will certainly be contacting you the next time I need to book a DJ.
I wanted to email you earlier to tell you how great of a time we all had last night at the company party…Davids is a hoot and a half…we just clicked immediately. Please let David know to give me a call to discuss a charity event that we spoke about in February Thank you for all your help and look forward to working with you again!
It was a pleasure working w/ you … my bosses were so very happy with you! Everyone had a lot of fun and I will definitely reach out to if there should be anymore DJ needed parties. Have a fabulous weekend and thank you so very much for your professional and passion for what you do!
You were amazing and everyone had a fabulous evening! Really the entertainment could not have gone smoother and more perfectly. I have already referred you to my friend who has an event company. Enjoy the Holidays! We will write a raving review soon!
THANK YOU! We all had a fantastic time and enjoyed the music a lot. Wishing you happy holidays and all the best for the new year! We will definitely see you next year again!!
DJ Dave played at our daughters grad party this past Saturday night. We hired him because we had heard him at another party last summer. Both parties had folks up and dancing. It was uplifting, lively, and Dave kept it perfectly moving. He knew exactly what music to play and when. No one wanted to stop the party so we added another half hour. I recommend Dave without reservation and I would hire him again and again.
This couple said goodbye to their wedding at the Palm House in Brooklyn Botanic Garden with a Star Wars send-off. DJ Dave Swirsky cued the music for their exit, so the last minute of the night felt as big as the first dance. A planned exit song is a small detail that guests remember, and we build one into every wedding DJ timeline.
For their first dance at Brooklyn Botanic Garden, this couple chose one of the shortest and sweetest songs we have played, a piece from the Cinderella soundtrack. DJ Dave Swirsky introduced them and let the moment breathe. A short first dance keeps every guest watching, then opens the floor for everyone. We help couples pick and edit songs as part of our wedding DJ service.
MC Daniel teaches the kids the Coke and Pepsi game, 2026 style, at a Bat Mitzvah in Westport, CT in June 2026. A clear explanation of the rules gets everyone playing fast. Games like this are a highlight between dance sets. Daniel keeps it fast and fun, so the game never drags. Learn more about our Bat Mitzvah MC and DJ service.
A full Expressway Music team covered this Bar Mitzvah at Slate in New York City. DJ Swirsky played the party, MC Daniel ran the room, and two of our dancers kept guests moving. There was an AI baseball card photo booth, an open air booth, and our own photographer and videographer. See how we put a celebration like this together on our Bar and Bat Mitzvah page.
An 80s disco theme turned Slate in New York City into a nightclub for this Bar Mitzvah, and Take On Me filled the floor. DJ Swirsky played, MC Daniel hosted, and two of our dancers led the moves on an LED dance stage. A baseball card photo booth, a photographer and a videographer rounded it out. See everything we offer for Bar Mitzvahs.
Kids sang and danced to Fireball by Pitbull during karaoke at this Bat Mitzvah at Red Hat on the River in Irvington, NY, with DJ Dave Swirsky cheering them on. Karaoke gives kids a turn at the mic between dance sets, and the whole group usually joins in. Our team also ran the MC role and a photo booth here. Read more about our Bat and Bar Mitzvah entertainment.
A mother and daughter duet on the ABBA classic Mamma Mia was one of the sweetest moments of this winter Bat Mitzvah at Red Hat on the River in Irvington. The night mixed dancing, games and karaoke, with DJ Dave Swirsky and MC Daniel keeping it moving. Family duets like this happen when karaoke is part of the plan. See our Bat Mitzvah DJ options.
It was zero degrees outside, but inside Red Hat on the River in Irvington the dance floor was packed. Here MC Daniel leads the kids through Cotton Eye Joe at a Bat Mitzvah where DJ Dave Swirsky played and our open air photo booth ran all night. Line dances give everyone something to do together. Find out how we plan Bar and Bat Mitzvah parties.
While the adults enjoyed cocktail hour at the Mansion on Broadway in White Plains, the kids took over the main room for karaoke with DJ Dave and MC Daniel. Party in the U.S.A. by Miley Cyrus got everyone singing. A kids karaoke cocktail hour keeps younger guests happy and ready for the party. Read about our kids and Mitzvah karaoke.
