First of all, I would give more than 5 stars if I could. The bottom line: not only is David a fantastic DJ, he is super easy to work with, professional, & kind.
Let’s be honest, planning a wedding is not easy. In fact, it’s an epic organizational feat (or nightmare, depending on how you want to look at it). I was so delighted when we hired David for our wedding, as I immediately felt like I had one less thing to worry.
No matter what my question was, David always replied with lightening fast speed. In fact, when I first reached out for a quote, I had a response 5 minutes later, with a picture of Dave DJ’ing at our venue. That’s pretty awesome customer service!
We talked to Dave about the type of music we like & what we did not want to hear, then we turned over the reigns to him. Instead of giving him a play list, we let him do his job, read the crowd, & play what he thought was best. David absolutely nailed it! He had people of all ages up & dancing!
Multiple times throughout the night, our guests came up to us & asked if we had personally picked the play list. Dave really brought the cool factor!
I can’t say enough good things about David. His prices are fair. He loves music & what he does. You can tell that he truly cares. He is so organized. And as mentioned before, he is an absolute pleasure to work with. I highly recommend David for any event or wedding! Do yourself a favor & hire him!

David was a perfect wedding DJ in every respect. He listened to to what we wanted and took it from there. The dance floor was packed for hours. Highlights include:
1. Unlike some DJs who wanted us to put together playlists David spoke to us about our taste in music and read the crowd and played awesome music from start to finish.
2. The music was the perfect volume. Often wedding DJs play music too loudly and ruin the atmostphere for most people. David took great care to make sure that people could talk during dinner.
3. He was incredibly professional. I can’t say enough about this. During wedding planning there are a million things to worry about. Not having to worry about the music was a huge relief.
4. David set up the sound for our ceremony. Like the music for the reception, the volume was perfect and even though it was an outdoor ceremony there were no issues at all.
Bottom line – If you’re looking for a wedding DJ get David. He’s awesome in every respect. You and your guests will have a great time.

There are tons of great reviews for the guys at Expressway Music here, but I’m here to praise Jeanine, who KJ/DJ’d our wedding. Leading up to the wedding, she was incredibly organized and professional, meeting with us to understand the kind of music and vibe we wanted, sending us thorough notes to ensure she had it right, and then a few days in advance, talking through the details of the night.
We provided her with a long list of karaoke and dance song requests, and while she was upfront that not every request would be accommodated in exactly the order we listed it, she did an amazing job of executing our plan while also integrating requests on the spot and responding to the mood in the room as the night went along.
We wanted a mix of karaoke and dance music, and Jeanine and her colleague went back and forth between the two mediums seamlessly. She read the crowd incredibly well and knew just what to play at any given moment to keep the momentum going. I and others made special requests throughout the night, and she was totally cooperative and willing to change course, never losing her smile or cheerful demeanor. Overall, Jeanine was a delight – both in her personality and her skill at her job.
I also want to give a shout-out to Charissa, who handled the business end of things. She was very professional and informative and also a pleasure to work with. Expressway Music knows its stuff, and we appreciated how well both Jeanine and Charissa worked with us to make it the night and the party we wanted. Nothing but good things to say!

When we were looking for a DJ for our wedding we were always suspicious about vendors rated 5 out of 5 stars. But we give David 5 starts because that’s what he and his company deserved.
We found Expressway Music through Weddingwire and Yelp. He had decent reviews so we decided to schedule an interview with him. From our first meeting until end end of our reception, David and his team were very professional, helpful, flexible and friendly which is quite a rare combination. He asked us questions about the format of our wedding, what kind of music we like and explained us what he thinks would be the best mix of music for us. We knew that he was going to customize the playlist based on our taste but also add something from his experience which worked perfect at the end.
His office staff are very professional and made sure that the administrative side of this was handled very quickly and easily. Following the first meeting, we were never pressured to make a quick decision — they did not act like salesman — they looked like a group of professionals who like what they do. A few weeks before the wedding, they sent us a few online questionnaires on the event details and our music preferences which we submitted and discussed with David in the final meeting. This hole process didn’t take more than a few hours of our time and at each stage David and his team were very helpful and professional.
David did a spectacular job at the wedding. We picked 10 must-play songs and let David choose the rest for us. He read the crowd so well and made sure the dancing did not stop all night. We are very happy with the choice we made and strongly recommend David and Expressway Music for everyone!

Dave was the DJ at my wedding last week and he (and Expressway Music) are absolutely wonderful! They are reliable, professional, responsive, helpful and extremely talented. During our first meeting Dave asked us about our vision, took detailed notes and really listed to what we wanted.
A great example of Dave’s expertise in is when we had our final meeting we told him that we wanted a short first dance and asked him to cut the song short (Cant Take My Eyes Off of You by Frankie Valli & The Four Season). He suggested that we play the whole song because it’s such a great song with a great chorus and people would look forward to it. We told him that we trusted his opinion (but I was still a little nervous). Understanding that we were uncomfortable being the center of attention for a long period of time he had the crowd join in singing the chorus and it was a huge hit. He then invited the rest of the guest to join us on the dance floor. It was the perfect transition without taking anything away from our first dance or the song.
Multiple times during the wedding people told us how great the music was and how amazing it was that Dave was able to keep the partying going on all night (we had non-stop dancing for 4 hours). We highly recommend Dave and hope we have an opportunity to work with him again.

My now wife and I got married in early October and agreed when we started planning our wedding that picking the right DJ would make a huge difference in how the party portion of the wedding would go.
We did the best we could by asking around, taking notes at other friends/family weddings, reading reviews on Yelp & The Knot & lots of other wedding sites. After reading plenty of positive reviews we contacted ExpressWay Music. From the start we were given great customer service and were really impressed with the way that they treated us even before committing to having them be our wedding DJ.
Sergio was our DJ and he did everything perfectly. I understand what that must sound like reading it here but hear me out.
Here are some specific examples of how Expressway Music and DJ Sergio went the extra mile for us…
1) We planned our wedding from California (since that’s we’ve lived for over the last few years) and Expressway worked with our schedule when it came to song selections and day of planning (even with the time zone difference).
2) We provided song lists a few weeks before the wedding and Sergio made sure he had the versions we talked about. There was nothing too hard to find (provided spotify and youtube links to be safe) and he was able to combine me and my brides musical tastes extremely well (she’s more 90s hip hop and oldies, i’m more classic rock and EDM). Yes, he did a great job mixing all of those genres.
4) We spoke to Expressway Music owner Dave a week before the wedding to go through all of the details and he made us feel extremely comfortable. He assured us that it was going to be a great time and we really believed Sergio would deliver.
Best of all the music was at the right level all night so people weren’t shouting at each other if they were having a conversation 3 feet from each other and he never spoke unless he needed to.
Sergio’s got a great personality, read the room really well (180 guests, mostly 30-somethings, but even got some of the 50-somethings on the dance floor), and was an excellent DJ. We were extremely impressed with Sergio’s professionalism, talent, and ease of working with and are confident he’d do a great job at any event.

What a treat working with Expressway Music! We were working on a tight budget and reached out and initially couldn’t afford the first DJ but then Dave worked with us and found someone who was willing to and let me tell you, DJ Sergio was a freaking hit!
Everyone was raving about him after the reception! Sadly, being the bride, I was in an alternate dimension because of adrenaline, so I barely remember anything from that night but I do know that he was prepared, communicative and so fun! He checked out the space a week or so ahead of time too which felt reassuring to us. He even played a song (or two) after the last song (and the party had ended) because everyone was having such a good time and wanted it to continue! I really can’t express how many guests told us how great and fun DJ Sergio was , after the day was done. He also had a ton of profesional equipment and we literally didn’t have to worry about anything. Expressway also has a client portal to upload music which is nice! There was a 50 song limit which, of course, makes sense because that’s a ton of music but I wanted to add a million lol. Regardless, he picked great music and it was a blast!!! Working with Sergio and Dave was by far one of the easiest parts to our wedding. We were (are) so thankful!!

We could not have been more thrilled for DJ Mac to be the DJ at our wedding! After meeting with several DJ’s we felt most comfortable with Expressway and DJ MAC and he managed to wildly exceed our expectations.
We are not huge music buffs, and relied on Mac to read the crowd and play music that was suited to young and old alike. We even had a friend come up to us and ask if we hand picked all the songs because they were all great!We used three different songs for our processional, and Mac seamlessly wove all of the music together to make it truly special and unique. Mac listened to all of the speeches and when a song from a movie was mentioned, he played the song later that night without being asked- a highlight of the night. It was truly a magical night and we know that Mac was a huge part of the success! We cant recommend him enough. He was beyond excellent.

What can I say about DJ Swirsky that hasn’t been said! He truly is as good as it gets! Before Dave, my fiancé and I interviewed eight different DJ’s in the tri-state area (no, that is not a typo.) We both come from families who have musical backgrounds in one way or another and had a clear vision of what songs we wanted played at the wedding and how we saw our special day going.
During our meeting with Dave, he helped us feel at ease and reassured us that our vision would be made a reality, and he delivered! Dave Swirsky is just unreal. He was so wonderful to us for our wedding from the day we met him/signed with him, up until (and well after) the wedding. Our wedding was on the UES and Dave understood that the venue was a classic one, but that our guests still wanted to dance their hearts out. He didn’t disappoint, but also didn’t try to make the evening/venue something that it wasn’t.
Every song was perfect – many of our friends who are very picky about music asked for his info after the wedding. They were so impressed that he was such a great compliment to the evening. He didn’t stick out as many DJs tend to do when they come in with huge setups and crazy props. Very understated and still an amazing MC. He was so sweet and easy and dealt with our requests like a star. He setup beautiful music for our cocktail hour and dinner which had swing. big band, and golden era classics and was easily able to transition for dancing to all of the current hits that everyone wanted to dance to. We love Dave – we can’t wait to work with him again and we just can’t say enough. Thank you for making our evening so wonderful and for being so great to work with.

DJ Sergio was our DJ for our June 14 wedding. We looked into Expressway Music after reading the rave reviews on Yelp. We pretty much decided that we were going to work with them from our first contact. Everyone we spoke with at Expressway was extremely professional, and as a type A person I absolutely loved their process.
The wedding day forms and music library on their website make it so easy to express the vibe you want for your special day. We loved Sergio right away. We had some pretty set ideas of what we wanted. He was very open to incorporating all of our requests and his calmness and professionalism helps to make you feel that everything is going to be great the day of. And it was!
He remembered everything and incorporated everything that we had asked (and even picked up on the hints of what we didn’t want–which is equally as important!). He even played a song that my father mentioned in his toast immediately following, which was such a wonderful and sentimental touch. Many of our guests were wearing sunglasses so he played a snippet of “sunglasses at night,” which everyone has mentioned to us as being very cool and fun. We have received great reviews about the music, including that it got everyone from all ages dancing, it was a blast, and that they were so happy to hear their request played. Following the wedding we received a nice email from Expressway Music (owner Dave) thanking US for everything!

Expressway Music is a terrific company, top to bottom, for handling your event’s musical needs. For our wedding in February 2014, my wife and I knew we should hire David and his company after our first interaction.
He had been recommended by a friend who had hired David for his own wedding, and he (correctly) told us that we couldn’t go wrong with a DJ who has David Bowie and Outkast album covers on his office walls. He was right. David and his staff (who were always professional, courteous and helpful) set the tone perfectly right from the moment we sat down for our first chat. He understood our rather diverse musical tastes immediately. He let us think through each section of the wedding day and what kind of mood we were hoping to set. And while he encourages a limited number of requests, he is able to perfectly read the crowd to get or keep everyone dancing. He also goes the extra mile, as we had selected for our first dance a song that we could only find online, in a live performance YouTube clip. He cleaned up the track and made my wife’s day as she got to dance to the perfect version of her favorite song.

Worked with Expressway for our wedding. DJ Sergio was our DJ. I highly, highly recommend them. My wife and I are very detail oriented, and had a lot of ideas about how we wanted each piece of the wedding to play out. Expressway music owner Dave and DJ Sergio worked with us every step of the way.
We wanted to use nice oldies background music for the cocktail hour and Sergio accommodated. We had a song play when I came out for the bedeken, and it came on at just the right time. We had several songs in the processional set to play for different family members and again Sergio navigated that seamlessly, which really added to the vibe of the entire ceremony. During the reception he played our first song right on cue as well. Sergio’s real talents came out during the reception. We gave him a must-play list about 12 songs long, together with Israeli music off of a jump drive. He played everything we requested and gave him but also used that information to weave in other music he thought we would like, and we did love all of it. He was a master at reading the crowd and knowing when to keep the volume on a little lower and when to blast the sound. He kept people dancing all night and every time the music shifted, people had a smile on their face that basically said “oh wow, this is a great song to play right now.” That really was the ultimate test for me – the fact that people were up on their feet through the evening and our Rabbi yelled “one more song” at the end, which of course Sergio obliged even though we had already gone over the official ending time by a few minutes. Sergio was also a genuinely nice, guy who was ready to accommodate any changes to our plans or to toss in something new on the fly. Really recommend Expressway Music and DJ Sergio in particular.

We knew that DJ Dave and Expressway DJ was the right fit after we personally met Dave at his office. We immediately liked his friendly, warm attitude and his extensive knowledge of all the types of music that we wanted. He made us feel comfortable and we liked his sense of humor. After 2 meetings with us, he was so receptive to any requests and mind you any last minute changes that we had right before the wedding.

They were the DJ for my wedding in December 2010! When we met with them they asked us what kind of music we liked and we gave short answers that we didn’t really think about.It is hard to come up with all the music you like off the top of your head. I think they knew that . But they kept us there for an hour and talked to us about just normal things. Trying to get an idea who we were. I got a great vibe from them right there and when they showed up at our reception they sure did deliver!

We have DJ Dave to thank for helping us throw such an amazing, unforgettable wedding reception. I would never have predicted that our family and friends would not get off the dance floor but that is exactly what happened. (And on a Sunday evening!) Dave put together such a fantastic soundtrack that guests could not resist.
We have had so many people tell us that they have not had that much fun in a long time.. It was such great feedback to hear. Dave was right on cue about song selection, timing, mood, volume, etc throughout the entire night – cocktail hour was mellow, dinnertime music was appropriate, and the post-dinner dance party was perfect apparently. I can’t express how much fun we had that night – and the atmosphere that Dave set had so much to do with that.
I have to say that researching DJ’s was tough for us as it’s not something you can taste, sample, or view in a look book. However, once we met Dave we hit it off immediately. He is so nice, professional, passionate about music, and trusting. He received rave reviews from our other vendors who see him in action regularly and now I know why! J. My mom had told me when I was planning my wedding that the entertainment “makes or breaks the wedding.” And she was right. My entertainment made my wedding the best night of my life. Dave met with us weeks before the wedding and asked a bunch of questions about things I had never even thought of, and even the slightest weird request was taken note of (“can we have the law and order sound effect before every toast?” Yep, he did it!) At the end of the meeting, my fiancee said, “You know what? I was stressed about everything…until today. I just feel like Dave can take care of any curve ball.” That peace of mind alone was worth its weigh in gold.Dave called the band before the wedding and coordinated every last detail with them. He accommodated every last weird song request, and had this innate ability to know exactly what to play to keep the crowd on their feet! It was amazing, and perfect, and I couldn’t have asked for a better DJ/emcee. Here’s the thing. Other places I talked to tried to convinced me I needed a separate DJ, a separate emcee, and a separate singer. Dave did all 3. And on top of everything? The whole booking process could not have been more seamless or pleasant. Quick to respond. Eager to please. Just wonderful beyond the telling of it. They had an online form that was easy to fill out that would say exactly what we wanted and even had a library of songs to choose from to help score the evening, and they were able to get any song we wanted. Worked with Expressway for our wedding. DJ Greg was our DJ. I highly, highly recommend them. My wife and I are very detail oriented, and had a lot of ideas about how we wanted each piece of the wedding to play out. Expressway and Greg worked with us every step of the way. We wanted to use nice oldies background music for the cocktail hour and Greg accommodated. We had a song play when I came out for the bedeken, and it came on at just the right time. We had several songs in the pr
ocassional set to play for different family members and again Greg navigated that seamlessly, which really added to the vibe of the entire ceremony. During the reception he played our first song right on cue as well. Greg’s real talents came out during the reception. We gave him a must-play list about 12 songs long, together with Israeli music off of a jump drive. He played everything we requested and gave him but also used that information to weave in other music he thought we would like, and we did love all of it. He was a master at reading the crowd and knowing when to keep the volume on a little lower and when to blast the sound. He kept people dancing all night and every time the music shifted, people had a smile on their face that basically said “oh wow, this is a great song to play right now.” That really was the ultimate test for me – the fact that people were up on their feet through the evening and our Rabbi yelled “one more song” at the end, which of course Greg obliged even though we had already gone over the official ending time by a few minutes. Greg was also a genuinely nice, chatty guy who was ready to accommodate any changes to our plans or to toss in something new on the fly. Really recommend Expressway and DJ Gregl in particular.
