This review is a bit late, but Dave was our wedding DJ in May 2024. We had the absolute BEST experience with Dave! From start to finish, he was professional, organized, and truly understood how to keep the energy going all night long. A year later, our guests are still raving about the incredible music and the seamless flow of the evening. Dave took the time to understand our vision, curated a perfect playlist, and read the room like a pro—keeping the dance floor packed from the first song to the last. His transitions were smooth and his mic work was spot on. Beyond just playing great music, Dave was a true professional—arriving early, coordinating with our other vendors, and making sure everything ran flawlessly. If you’re looking for a DJ who can bring the perfect vibe to your wedding, we highly recommend DJ Dave!

I have known David and his company, Expressway Music for as long as I have been in the business, which is close to 20 years now. His professionalism towards his clients as well as the vendors he works with is hard to surpass. David and his DJs are not only experts on how to throw a great party (I have never had a client who did not rave about his services) but they also do it with an enormous amount of pride, respect and kindness. They always make sure that they comply with all of the house rules, they always call ahead of time to make sure that the schedules match up, they load in and out in a timely manner and their equipment is superb. They leave no room for mistakes! I know that I am in for a good, fun and easy night when I know they are coming! That makes a planner’s job so much easier and the party a definite success! I am happy to recommend David and Expressway Music to anyone! He is a gem! I call him my favorite DJ in NYC!

For over a decade any event I have helped plan, I have always recommended David Swirsky’s company, Expressway Music. Why? Because hands down, David and his team are simply the best in NYC. They continuously offer exceptional service at affordable prices and are wonderful and communicative to work with. I have asked Expressway to provide classical musicians for a 30-minute ceremony, followed by a funk band and then a DJ, as well as DJ services and a drumming circle for a Bat Mitzvah. He delivers seamlessly every time, effortlessly switching between musicians and DJ services. Need wedding ceremony coordination; the Expressway Music team will make it happen, in the cost they quoted you. I have worked with Expressway extensively on same-sex weddings and as soon as they became legal in NYC, they got the lingo down for man/man or woman/woman events and made me feel comfortable recommending them to my same-sex couple clients, who didn’t receive as gracious a welcome from other vendors. All my clients who worked with them directly, have had nothing but rave reviews about their experiences as well. Expressway Music’s DJs are always professional and have the amazing ability to read a crowd and play the exact right song, at exactly the right moment. Something I rarely if ever see other DJ’s do. I personally, while working, have gotten so caught up in the great time they are creating that I have forgotten to take notes! At the end of the day, what you need in a DJ company is great service, amazing music and good booking communication. Expressway Music nails it, every time, for over a decade; on hundreds of events has been my experience. Artistry’s Patron would only benefit from having Expressway Music as a preferred vendor.

DJ Dave was warm, professional, and a perfect collaborator in bringing our wedding karaoke reception to life. DJ Dave really kept the energy in the room on a high the entire event. Going into our wedding planning process, music and the dance party were top of mind for me. I had a vision of all of our friends and family mingling on the dance floor and we needed a partner that was going to make that dream come true. Working with Expressway Music and DJ David was a top-notch experience and he made sure that our party was everything we wanted and more. From our first call, David brought a personal touch to the proceedings and truly sought to understand what we were looking for at our wedding. Expressway Music isn’t just limited to music, as he was also able to bring a photo booth, which was a hit with all of our guests throughout the entire night. David’s planning portal and process helped us to maintain the level of control over the music we were looking for, while also relying on David’s years of expertise throwing the best parties. We were able to indicate which songs were a must, which were a maybe, and which we definitely didn’t want to hear. From there, during our final planning meeting we went through these selections so that he could craft the final product. And it worked out perfectly — our dance floor was never empty and our guests left raving about how good the music was and how much fun the photo booth was. What a treat working with Expressway Music! We were working on a tight budget and reached out and initially couldn’t afford the first DJ but then Dave worked with us and found someone who was willing to and let me tell you, DJ Sergio was a freaking hit! Everyone was raving about him after the reception! Sadly, being the bride, I was in an alternate dimension because of adrenaline, so I barely remember anything from that night but I do know that he was prepared, communicative and so fun! He checked out the space a week or so ahead of time too which felt reassuring to us. He even played a song (or two) after the last song (and the party had ended) because everyone was having such a good time and wanted it to continue! I really can’t express how many guests told us how great and fun DJ Sergio was , after the day was done. He also had a ton of profesional equipment and we literally didn’t have to worry about anything. Expressway also has a client portal to upload music which is nice! There was a 50 song limit which, of course, makes sense because that’s a ton of music but I wanted to add a million lol. Regardless, he picked great music and it was a blast!!!

David Was such a pleasure to have you there, your music and timing are wonderful, of course, but it’s your warmth and sensitivity that make every event you do so special! Truly appreciated having you there….thanks again.

There are not enough nice words I could say about Dave and his team! They are absolutely AMAZING!!! I had a very specific vision for a karaoke wedding, and was unable to find any DJ who could really understand what I wanted. After having one conversation with Dave I knew I had found my DJ! He really understood exactly what I wanted, and he delivered perfectly! So many people came up to me afterwards commenting on how well our DJ flowed seamlessly between karaoke and dancing and did not miss a beat!! Dave is a great guy, and truly loves what he does, and exudes this when he works your wedding! His passion and enthusiasm are contagious and he got every person dancing (even on our muddy dance floor!) the entire night! I am so thankful I found him to work our wedding and would recommend him to anybody who has an event coming up!
